On Thursday 23 July, we had the privilege of celebrating the Training Centre Legacy Event at the National Wine Centre. The event brought together industry partners, researchers, students, and friends who have supported the Training Centre’s journey over the years.
The event was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the impact the Training Centre have made together and to express our sincere gratitude to the universities and all partners whose commitment and collaboration have been instrumental to our success.
A special thanks to Jodie Badcock for being such an excellent MC and engaging everyone with an interactive quiz titled “How Well Do You Know the Training Centre?” This quiz highlighted the key milestones and achievements of the Training Centre. We were also honoured to have Prof Anton Middelberg FTSE FNAI share his reflections on the Training Centre.
Training Centre Director Prof Peter Dowd also made formal acknowledgements to many members and organisations who have contributed to the Training Centre’s success, including Deputy Director Prof Bill Skinner for his co-leadership, School of Chemical Engineering for their support, and Advisory Committee members John McGagh, David Giles Paul Heithersay and Janine Herzig (MetPlant Convenor) for their strategic advice and commitment to the Training Centre over the years.

Thanks to all friends, partners, and members who have contributed to the Training Centre’s legacy. Together, we have developed outstanding graduates, advanced innovative research, strengthened industry collaboration, and created a lasting impact that will continue well beyond the Training Centre’s formal conclusion.
