First ONPRIME Graduate

Congratulations Sultan Abulkhair and team “Integrated Ore Knowledge” JUNLIN QU Milena Nasretdinova Chryselle Ultima Mancenido successfully graduated from the CSIRO ONPRIME19 program.

One of the most valuable lessons from the program was the importance of focusing on the problem first, rather than starting with a solution. Thanks to the program the team took initiatives to step beyond the research environment and engaged directly with industry to better understand the real-world challenges facing the mining sector.

The team developed an algorithm for comprehensive update resource knowledge based on production of sensor observations. This innovation will enable mining companies to improve ore knowledge and mine planning.
To understand more of Sultan Abulkhair’s project — Rapid updating of resource knowledge using sensor information.

Through extensive industry engagement, the team explored pathways to translate their research into practical impact. Their innovation combines sensor observations and advanced algorithms to rapidly update orebody knowledge, helping mining companies improve orebody knowledge and mining planning.
